2022 Fellow of ABAI: Julie S. Vargas
Dr. Julie S. Vargas taught elementary school before getting her doctoral degree in educational research. As a faculty member at West Virginia University from 1966 to 2004, she worked with prospective and practicing teachers. She published three books on designing contingencies to improve education. In 1989, Professor Vargas helped found the B. F. Skinner Foundation named after her father. She was its president until 2020, and is currently Chair of the Board. In 2004, she moved with her husband to Cambridge, Massachusetts.
